Country singer/songwriter David Tuckermakes his emphatic and emotional return to the spotlight with a new single “Water It Down” that is available everywhere now.

Tucker is coming off a lengthy hiatus stemming from a serious car accident that nearly cost him his life last year. The new song – and its accompanying music video – revisits the wreck that unexpectedly put his career on hold and explores the roller coaster of unpredictable emotions he experienced during his recovery. With its haunting and captivating rhythm – and the same vulnerable, honest songwriting that Tucker has become known for – “Water It Down” strikes a decidedly triumphant tone in telling a story of determination that can inspire others.

The song and music video were exclusively premiered by American Songwriter with an accompanying interview that allowed Tucker to tell his unimaginable story, recall what it was like to return to the scene of his accident and share how he still manages to put one foot in front of the other.

“Tucker ultimately found the help he needed to heal, channeling this sense of overcoming directly into some of the most powerful lyrics.” – American Songwriter

You gotta fight like hell when there’s fire in ya bones
Burning like the Devil’s got a hold of ya soul
Cause he won’t let go
Ain’t no hidin’ when you’re in the den with the lions, fighting
Oh take it from somebody who knows
Yeah I got way too close
To 6 feet under the ground
No you can’t water it down

“For as much as this was a scary event that put both my career and life on pause, I think this song is just as much about the good that ultimately came out of the entire experience,” says Tucker. “I really found my second wind artistically in the aftermath of the crash, and that time allowed me to write from a new perspective, reflect on everything I’ve gone through and realize how blessed I am to still be alive.”

Tucker’s music has previously been featured on VEVO Country, CMT, American Songwriter and many other notable outlets. Now back to working full-time on his career, he has several new singles slated for release in 2023 that reflect his unique personal experiences and the valuable lessons learned from them.
