Dawson continues to cement himself as a Country music neo-traditionalist who stays true to himself, his sound, and the craftsmanship behind his music. “You’re Gonna Be Mine” is a heartfelt declaration of lasting love and commitment. Reflecting on how seasons change, and most things fade with time, the song reminds listeners that true love can remain constant.

“This song is about the kind of love that lasts longer than a lifetime. I knew as soon as we wrote it that it was special because that’s something that’s rare nowadays,” said Colton Dawson.

As long as the waves crash on the shore
I’m gonna love you more and more
Every day ’til the end of time
As long as the stars are in the sky
You’re gonna be mine

Billboard named Dawson their ‘Country Up-and-Comer of the Month’ for October, saying:

“The Chandler, Arizona native plays guitar with top-form dexterity, pens songs that feel like gems unearthed directly from the 1980s, and sings those compositions with a skilled country twang.”

Having recently been named a Nashville Briefing 25 Artist to Watch, his recent singles “Might Be In It,” “It’s Gonna Rain,” “Piece Of Heaven,” and “Worth It” have received praise from Billboard, Cowboys & Indians, iHeart Country, Country Now, Holler, All Country News, Saving Country Music, and more.

Beyond the studio, Dawson has delivered standout opening performances for an impressive lineup of country artists including Lainey Wilson, Gavin Adcock, Cole Swindell, Clay Walker, Tracy Lawrence, Mark Chesnutt, Hank Williams Jr., Justin Moore, Braxton Keith, Jake Worthington and more. He will open for Mack Geiger in December, and in 2027 he will open for Cody Johnson and Emily Ann Roberts and perform at The Country Fest, The Country Concert, and Country Thunder Arizona and Wisconsin.

2026 has been an incredible launchpad for the promising newcomer, and more new music is on the horizon.
