NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 8, 2024) – Fueled by moving humility, a passion for rallying the community together, and an others-focused ambition, Spreading Hope With Keith Griner — a concert series with a purpose — has announced their next benefit show, set to happen at Live Oak on Tuesday, May 14th. So far, Spreading Hope has raised over 35k for Hope On The Row through over 200 artist performances.
With a glowing lineup of 12 performers including Jordan Fletcher, Lindsey James, Mitch Rossell and Ryan Griffin, all donations received will be donated directly to Hope On The Row— a local nonprofit serving Nashville’s unhoused. Hope On The Row will also be onsite taking all types of donations; lightly used clothing, new socks, and new personal essentials (shampoo, toothbrushes, women’s hygiene, etc). Born in 2020, Spreading Hope found its home in the Nashville community through host, curator, producer and director Keith Griner’s mission to uplift those who may find themselves feeling hopeless or helpless as a result of homelessness. Carried by an abiding enthusiasm for being a source of light to the city’s unhoused —regardless of their reason for homelessness — his commitment to the cause arrives from his own personal dealings with it. Fighting through homelessness and addiction himself, Keith, now 16 years sober, has the ability to suffer alongside those struggling in this way throughout our community; a deep empathy which he turns to fuel for action and change.
“My passion stems from the fact that I used to be living on the streets,” Griner shares. “I can understand the challenge to prevail from that kind of situation and feeling hopeless. But, it is possible for people to find their way out. I want people to know that it’s possible, and I want people who know someone who’s in that situation to not give up either.”
Giving Nashville artists the opportunity to give back to their community has also proved a special piece to Spreading Hope’s journey. Mitch Rossell shares, “It’s an honor to be a part of Spreading Hope and the impact it will continue to have on the homeless community. The people in these vulnerable positions are human beings and God calls us to do more than just pray for them. I’m grateful I get to play a small part in creating more hope for these men and women through Keith’s mission in Spreading Hope.” Jordan Fletcher details his gratitude to be involved noting, “Spreading Hope is a light for a group of people in a really dark place, and I’m grateful to get to be involved in any way i can.” Another one of the artists, Lindsay James, also shared a few words: “This is my 3rd year to be a part apart of Spreading Hope. It’s been really cool to see God expand Spreading Hope’s territory. I’ve watched it grow more and more each year and they’ve helped bring awareness to people on what’s going on in our Nashville community and how they need our help. Music has a way of bringing everyone together and it’s a great cause to be a part. Always happy to help and serve in my Nashville Community.”
