NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 8, 2024) Long-time music industry executive Bob Reeves announced today the opening of his new multi-faceted firm, Excelsior Music.

Excelsior Music is Reeves’ first solely-owned private venture and will focus on management, artist development, radio and tour marketing and promotion.

Reeves’ first management client is independent country singer-songwriter, Orlando Mendez. Mendez, now based in Nashville, is a second-generation Cuban-American from South Florida. He had his first national exposure on NBC’s The Voice. He is currently working on his debut project with producer Nick Worley.

Bob is already working from his home office while seeking new clients and projects.

“I guess I join the likes of Col. Harlan Sanders, of KFC fame, since I am starting my first business in earnest, late in my career. With that, I recognize that the life I’ve lived along with its successes, and especially its failures, have given me the experience and fortitude to finally launch Excelsior Music. Orlando is the perfect artist to start with from the exact opposite perspective. He is a young, hungry, multi-talented singer-songwriter who will, without a doubt, have a long and fruitful career!” said Reeves.

Bob Reeves, an accomplished music industry veteran has held Vice President and National Director posts with Warner Music Nashville, Sony, Monument, and Epic Records, Reviver Records, Blaster Records, CORE Records and, most recently, Riser House Entertainment. He’s spent time as a programmer and air talent at Lightning 100 & Thunder 94 in Nashville as well as WFLY-FM and WPTR-AM in Albany, N.Y. Shortly after arriving in Nashville from Upstate New York, Reeves became the operations manager and talent buyer for the legendary nightclub and music venue, The Ace of Clubs.

Orlando Mendez, a second-generation Cuban-American, is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter, originally from Miami, Fla. and a Florida Gator alumni. He began honing his stage skills as an actor in Florida and New York before taking up songwriting and performing and relocating to Tennessee. His talents earned a four-chair turn on NBC’s The Voice in 2022, where he made it to the Top 20, before turning his sights on launching his career as an independent artist. He has been writing and releasing music steadily for the past 2 years, building on his exceptional exposure from the television series and his energetic live gigs.
