NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 4, 2020) – Rising country singer/songwriter Joe Hanson is getting in the Holiday spirit with a two-song Christmas EP Wishlist, exclusively premiered on The Sam Alex Show. Gather your loved ones and listen to Wishlist here.

The songs include “Wishlist,” a mid-tempo song about having everything you could want this holiday season. It brings country music and Christmas together. The catchy chorus brings you in as he describes the best the Holidays have to offer. The second song on the EP “Maybe Christmas” starts with a guitar and sleigh bells then has a great uptempo beat and once again, Hanson sings about how Christmas should bring everyone together.

Nothing beats Christmas and country music. Thank you to Joe Hanson for bringing us together and reminding us to spread joy this holiday season,” says Sam Alex.

Of the song “Wishlist” Hanson says, “This is my way of bringing back joy into the Christmas season by making a list of things I’m thankful for instead of things I want or need. My hope is that it can inspire those who listen to really take the time to count their blessings, rather than their wants.”

Of “Maybe Christmas,” “It’s really just a song about wishing Christmas would bring the peace, love and unity that we as a world seem to have forgotten over this past year. My hope is that it encourages those who listen to just keep loving on people the way we do at Christmas time everyday of our lives.”

Native to the Chicago suburbs, Joe Hanson breaks the pop-country mold by fusing Justin Timberlake-like R&B with traditional country. Equipped with a striking tenor voice and a knack for shaping a melody like a sculptor, Hanson knows how to write the kind of songs that stick in your head. His two previous singles, “Head Over Wheels” and “Broken If It Don’t Break” have each racked up over 100,000 streams to date.

About Joe Hanson
Singer/songwriter Joe Hanson is already breaking the mold, and he’s brand new to country music. He is equipped with a striking tenor voice and a knack for shaping a melody like a sculptor with stone: tastefully and expressively. Even now, Hanson knows how to write the kind of songs that stick in your head, with lyrics that reflect the bitter and the sweet he’s tasted in life. And while he seems to have been born to sing country music — in fact, he probably was — it took Hanson a while to decide whether his destiny was in Christian music, on which he was raised back in Naperville, Illinois alongside country stalwarts like Randy Travis, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, John Denver and more. After experimenting with various sounds and projects, Hanson knew that his calling was to make country music, so he officially moved to Nashville. Since moving to town he has had the opportunity to attend writers retreats, where he met Keesy Timmer, who’d penned Kelsea Ballerini’s “Yeah Boy.” Hanson has also had the opportunity to open for some of Nashville’s best including Brantley Gilbert, Randy Houser, Russell Dickerson and Lindsay Ell.
