GILLEY’S PLATINUM RESERVE RED WINE IN SELECT TEXAS STORES NOW
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 28, 2019) – Country legend Mickey Gilley has taken on a new venture in the liquor business: wine. The Gilley’s brand is most famous for its beer, however, Gilley’s now has two Platinum Reserve wines, one red and one white, under the famous brand name. Gilley partnered with Lost Maples Winery in Vanderpool, Texas, to create the wines. More information on the wines can be found here.
The red is being offered in a limited availability in select Spec’s Wine Liquor & Finer Food stores in Houston, Austin, New Braunfels and San Antonio. In store tastings will be conducted during January and February to give Spec’s customers a chance to sample the wine. Tastings will be held in the following stores from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.:

Spec’s Downtown Houston (2410 Smith Street) will host a Gilley’s wine tasting event on Feb. 16 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Gilley will make an in-store appearance from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. during the tasting. About Mickey Gilley
Country music artist Mickey Gilley has been wowing fans with his haunting sound of Louisiana rhythm and blues since 1957. The Mississippi native grew up with his two famous cousins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Jimmy Swaggart, surrounded by the influence of music. Gilley made his chart topper debut with his song “Is It Wrong For Loving You,” in which Kenny Rogers played the guitar. After moving to Pasadena, Texas, in 1971, he opened his world famous honky-tonk nightclub, Gilley’s. He continued to show chart success with hits like “City Lights” and “Don’t The Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time” both of which reached number one on the Billboard Country Charts. In 1980, Gilley appeared in the film “Urban Cowboy” alongside John Travolta and Johnny Lee. At age 82, Gilley is currently playing solo dates and is on the Urban Cowboy Reunion Tour with Johnny Lee, playing more than 40 shows across the United States in 2019.
