NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 14, 2025) – Today, TONY-nominated Jasmine Amy Rogers and the late, multi-genre singer/songwriter Dan Seals are featured on “My Baby’s Got Good Timing,” a reimagined song from the Dan Seals Estate and record label Melody Place. Listen Here.
The upbeat track was featured on the two-time CMA winner’s fourth album, San Antone, inspired by his love’s intuitive nature and warm spirit. Nashville-based Melody Place paired the labelmates together, blending Rogers’ Broadway-inspired vocals with Seals’ classic voice.
Written by Country Music Hall of Fame member Bob McDill and produced by esteemed producer Kyle Lehning, the solo track was originally released in 1984, climbing to No. 2 on the Billboard Country Singles chart. The duet was also produced by Lehning, who kept the authenticity of the first chart-topper alive.
“While I didn’t have the opportunity to know Dan, growing up in Texas, I certainly knew his music. Recording ‘My Baby’s Got Good Timing’ was wonderful. His voice is timeless, and stepping into that groove felt like bridging generations through pure musical chemistry. There’s a playfulness that made it a joy to interpret, and I’m glad to be part of celebrating his incredible legacy in such a vibrant way,” says Rogers.
Rogers played her final show as the vivacious Betty Boop in award-winning BOOP! The Musical on Broadway this summer, earning her first-ever Tony nomination, Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, and Theatre World Award. The former Manhattan School of Music student studied musical theatre from 2017-2019, before pursuing her professional acting career.
Rogers’ other notable roles include Gretchen Wieners in the original national tour of Mean Girls, Anita in Jelly’s Last Jam at Pasadena Playhouse, and Francis in Becoming Nancy at Alliance Theatre. Rogers is currently starring in the Off-Broadway Revival of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as Olive Ostrovsky. Next year, she will perform an exclusive, one-night only showing ofRodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! in concert at Carnegie Hall on January 12.
This recreated track follows recently released collaborations between Seals and modern-day country icons, Jamey Johnson on “Three Time Loser,” and Luke Bryan on “Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold).”
About Dan Seals
Dan Seals was never one to follow convention. Born and raised in Texas, he played a right-handed, 12-string guitar with his left hand and eight strings—”upside down and backwards,” as he liked to say. This unconventional approach carried through his entire career, as he seamlessly transitioned from pop stardom to country success. Seals first gained fame as “England Dan” in the soft rock duo, England Dan & John Ford Coley. The pair’s 1976 hit “I’d Really Love to See You Tonight” cemented their place in pop history, followed by other classics like “Nights Are Forever (Without You).” But when the duo disbanded, Seals faced financial struggles as he worked years to rebuild his career. Determined to find a new path, he embraced his country roots. In 1984, “God Must Be a Cowboy” gave him his first country top 10 hit, paving the way for an astonishing run of nine No. 1 Billboard country hits. Songs like “Bop,” “Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold),” and “Meet Me in Montana” with Marie Osmond showcased his ability to blend emotional depth with commercial appeal. His work earned him a CMA award and a loyal fanbase. Seals was known for his artistic integrity, only recording songs that stirred him emotionally. His producer, Kyle Lehning, recalled how he pursued excellence with “light-hearted seriousness” in the studio. When the radio hits slowed, Seals remained a beloved touring act, later performing with his brother Jim as Seals & Seals, bringing their respective catalogs to audiences worldwide. Diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma in 2007, Seals faced his final days with the same grace he brought to his music. He passed away on March 25, 2009, at 8:30 p.m.—”Showtime,” as he and his manager put it. His legacy remains one of versatility, authenticity, and an enduring impact on both pop and country music.
