NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 5, 2021) – Today, rising singer/songwriter Alyssa Trahan released her highly anticipated self-produced album, Baby Blues & Stilettos. In the past year, as the music industry experienced hardships due to the pandemic, Trahan continued to push forward to complete her project. Baby Blues & Stilettos is truly a labor of love for the Rochester, N.Y. native as she is credited as a writer, producer and instrumentalist on every song. She takes the meaning of independent artist further by also creating the cover art, video content and social media graphics for the album. With themes of learning to do what’s best for you, embracing the good and bad memories, along with learning to roll with the punches and knowing when to pick your battles all while keeping the storytelling optimistic, Trahan remains true to herself with music that is empowering and uplifting. “I am so incredibly excited to finally release this album! I put everything I had into this record and it really shows every part of me as an artist, writer, producer and person. It didn’t happen the way I originally thought it would since the pandemic hit right when I started working on it, but I couldn’t be prouder of how it came out and I truly hope it resonates with people!” says Trahan.
Trahan is an incredible multi-instrumentalist, but credits her father as her teacher. As a guitarist himself, he taught Trahan to play guitar at a young age. She has turned her career into a family affair, but having him play in her band and on the album as well.
After putting in years of hard work and paying her dues, Trahan wrote “My Turn” solo, which has her asking “when’s it gonna be my turn?” Well Trahan’s time is now. This album shows the raw talent that she has and what she is capable of along with her resilience and determination to use her skills and knowledge to produce and release her album in the midst of unprecedented time.
