NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 7, 2021) — Keeping with her signature 90’s throwback vibe, Amanda Cooksey is releasing a captivating music video for her latest single “Wish You Were Here.” From the TV set fish tank in the opening scene, to the oversized set of dice, this video is as entertaining visually as the track is musically. Directed by Kolby Copeland, viewers experience a day-in-the-life of someone just trying to make it through a breakup without leaving the house. However, if you lived in this house, why would you ever leave? Watch the video here.

“I think the ‘Wish You Were Here’ video was one of the most fun music videos I have ever shot. Kolby has directed a few of my other videos, and he always does such a great job capturing my vision. For this video, I wanted to create something fun that felt like the vibe of the song, and I think the location we shot at definitely helped bring that feel to life!” says Amanda Cooksey.

Her willingness to take risks and carve out new areas of artistry places Amanda into a special category, among many of her genre-bending inspirations like Taylor Swift, Julia Michaels and Walker Hayes. She has seen success with recent releases, including “What’s His Name” and “In Denial,” both of which have garnished support from Spotify and will be on her debut concept album Him. Amanda is excited to unveil the connection each song has with the release of her album later this month.

About Amanda Cooksey
Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Amanda Cooksey took piano lessons and loved to sing at an early age. She discovered Ron Feldman, a vocal and piano instructor, whose guidance landed Amanda on NSAI’s Ones To Watch list in 2013. During this time, Amanda participated in pagents, spawning her passion for philanthropy, leading her to involvement with the Make A Wish Foundation, Ovarian Cancer Alliance and Tunes for Tots. Amanda attended Belmont University, where she earned two degrees in Business Administration and Songwriting. Shortly into her freshman year, her mentor, Ron, was diagnosed with brain cancer and passed away. To this day, Amanda credits him for her successes. Upon moving to Nashville, Amanda connected with hit writers Marty Dodson and Clay Mills, who soon became her mentors, as well as Rick Barker, who helped her establish a social media following and navigate the music industry. Through GRAMMY U, Amanda worked with Marc Driskill at Sea Gayle Music and had her song co-written with Dallas Remington, “Found Her Freedom,” published in Music Row Magazine. She attended Durango Songwriters Expo, where her song “Girl in the Mirror,” won second place in their Write A Hitmaker contest. After graduation, Amanda worked part-time in A&R and PR at Demolition Music where she continues to manage their catalog. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, she has consistently connected with and grown her fan base through playing music on Facebook and Instagram Live, where her rendition of Louis Tomilson’s “Just Like You” received notice. Her previous singles have been supported by Radio Disney Country and Spotify editorial playlists such as Wild Country, Pop-Co and Young Nashville. She recently received her Master’s in Public Relations from the University of Florida and continues to be creative every day, humbled by every opportunity that comes her way through doing what she loves.
