Country Band Chosen for Prestigious America Music Abroad Tour in 2020

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 28, 2019) – In the midst of their “Women & Wine” Tour, Farewell Angelina joined Westwood One’s Elaina Smith on Season 3 of the award-winning podcast, “Breaking Thru With Elaina.” The country quartet dives into their background, values, new music and hitting the road. The margarita-filled interview features an impressive cover of Maren Morris’ “My Church.” In addition, the official music video for their single “Ghosts” just wrapped up a 12-week run in the Top 3 of CMT’s 12-Pack Countdown. The video is available here.

Additionally, the girls are excited to be chosen for the highly selective American Music Abroad tour, joining 17 other U.S. bands to represent the diversity of American Music. This two week run, organized by the Association of American Voices, recognizes not only their immense musical talent but also Farewell Angelina’s dedication and passion for outreach and education. The news of this tour, comes as the band embarks on an international tour in Switzerland and Norway followed by Spain later this summer.

“Some of the pressure is taken off by being able to share the joys and the difficulties together. But, one of our favorite things is to be standing on stage together and watching one of us out front in the spotlight, I get chills just talking about it right now. That’s what so special and unique about this,” said Farewell Angelina’s Lisa Torres in the podcast episode.

“AMA fosters cross-cultural connections while showcasing America’s rich and diverse musical traditions to a global audience. During their tours, bands will collaborate with local musicians, hold workshops and classes, and perform at community events.” – Newswire.com

About Farewell Angelina
Named after a haunting Bob Dylan song, Farewell Angelina is an all-female country group with four powerhouse vocalists, dynamic songwriters and accomplished multi-instrumentalists. Their stellar blend of heart-stopping harmonies over blazing double violins and guitars has earned soaring praise across the board. Roughstock calls them a “Superstar Act… with Killer Songs;” Rolling Stone says, “Wickedly smart songwriting delivered with a healthy dash of sass… deft playing… into one sonic knockout punch.” A band of longtime friends, Nicole Witt, Andrea Young, Lisa Torres and Ashley Gearing all met pursuing their dreams in Nashville, Tenn. Each deeply respected and admired one another while they were building successful solo careers, touring and recording with top artists, and writing songs for some of Country Music’s biggest hitmakers. When they heard the undeniable magic of their voices together for the first time, they couldn’t wait to take their show on the road. Major opportunities soon followed including singing the National Anthem for Thursday Night Football, The Unbridled Eve Gala for the Kentucky Derby, the ACM All-Star Jam, and the Albisguetli Schutzenhaus Festival in Switzerland. Farewell Angelina’s chemistry lives in watching each other shine, and most of all, creating moments every night with the Country Music fans they love so much. The relationship they share with their fans won them the fan-voted “Hot Seat” spot of the Taste of Country 2017 “RISERS” Program by over 20,000 votes. They’ve also been named among Rolling Stone’s “New Artists You Need To Know” and Roughstock’s “Ones to Watch” with a tour schedule to prove it. The girls have opened shows for the likes of Kenny Chesney, Old Dominion, Frankie Ballard, Jake Owen, Billy Currington, Maroon 5, and Trace Adkins, to name a few. The girls joined the Bacon Brothers (Kevin & Michael) as the opening act on many dates of their last two summer tours. They are currently headlining their own “Women & Wine Tour” to packed crowds across the US. The girls closed out 2018 having played over 75 shows. The band released their highly-anticipated Women & Wine EP in January 2019. Visit their website at www.farewellangelinamusic.com.
